there is a company called wise food storage (http://wisefoodstorage.com) they have great compact food storage ideas in a variety of sizes  you can buy a lot  or as I have started doing buy smaller amounts in multiple spaced out purchases . this way I don't feel the expense and it staggers the expiration dates creating a potential 25+ year revolving food supply . the food is actually pretty good and they usually offer a free sample .
