« on: May 23, 2016, 09:04:27 am »
This looks like a very cool event. I will be there as a ISLIP ARES Operator along with a couple of other SHTFLI Brother and Sisters.

Come down and check it out on June 12th, 9-3pm at Heckscher State Park Field 8.

Hope to see you there today! Bring a camera! Watch for those radio geeks with the yellow vests and multiple HT"S.

The day went great. SHTFLI members Kevin (722), Lou (939), Salli (939), Paul and Greg (9111) volunteered as a part of Islip ARES/RACES. It was a beautiful day at Hecksher, a little windy though. My guess would be close to a hundred pieces of fire apparatus showed up from the NY area.
Each of us were assigned to shadow fire event personnel and act as global event communications. We received high marks from Suffolk County Fire Service for job well done. I look forward to doing it next year again.
