Propane Filling Stations
« on: October 02, 2016, 10:05:26 am »
Does anyone know of any propane filling stations on Long Island, preferably in Nassau County? With hurricane season in full swing I'm sure everyone is reviewing their plan, double checking their preparations and stocking up on supplies. I ordered a second 40lb propane tank to run my gene but i don't think the filling station I've used in the past is open anymore.

I honestly can't think of any stations that fill tanks anymore. With company's such as paraco that deliver propane to these places, I think it's just easier for them to exchange or to just sell you a new tank if you dont have one. Island park propane may due it.

Yeah, but the exchanges limit you to the smaller tanks. The bbq tanks used to be 20 pounds and now they're down to 15lbs. I keep 2 of those for the bbq but prefer to keep the two 40 pounders for the gene and propane heater. They take up a lot less room and mean less changing of tanks. I know the Uhaul on 107 still fills but the guy that does it is only there 1 day a week. The place Ive used in the past was a distributer on Old Country in Hicksville but it's not showing up on a Google search. When my new tank comes in I'll have to take a ride past there to see if it's still open.

Exactly what I'm looking for. And FYI, Worthington 40 pounders are $79.97 at Lowes. Pretty good price.

Update: I found this place today. Just another option for people looking to fill propane tanks rather than exchange them. Their website also illustrates why it's better to refill rather than exchange.
