Long time CB'er (Early 80's) making contacts on the super bowl but mainly CQ on LSB 38. Listen to SW at my home. I've been using FRS/GMRS since early 2000's for family comms on trips. Glad to see what it has become. I have a mobile setup and just completed my home rig. Look forward to talking when I can reach the repeaters. Thanks for the acceptance. Walt.

Hello Everyone, WRUJ779 here. I’ve been a little more active on the radio lately, especially after learning that so many here are pro 2nd amendment. I’d love to know about the next range day. Look forward to speaking to you all on the radio!

BridgeComm Introductions / Hello from Mount Sinai

Hello, all. I’m a new GMRS licensee, WRUR777. I’m not unfamiliar with radio, as I’ve been using marine VHF my whole adult life, and I was formerly a dispatcher at the Port Jefferson Fire Department. I am now Department Chaplain. I am a Boy Scout leader (14 or so years and counting) and Chaplain of my son’s Troop. I am active in SASS cowboy action shooting (alias: Hiram A Boeuf), which I also enjoy with my two sons. I’m a Past Master of my Masonic Lodge and I currently serve as Treasurer of one lodge and Chaplain and Trustee of another. I’ve been working in my family business for over 35 years, and hope to find a few minutes of spare time to enjoy radio as a hobby. Looking forward to talking with you on the air.

Gary Gudzik

BridgeComm Introductions / Hello from Smithtown, NY
« Last post by gregcaporale on September 22, 2022, 10:26:17 am »
Greetings from Smithtown. My callsign is WROK273 and I got into GMRS to help with communications while hiking and camping with my family and also with the Boy Scouts.  I am a geek at heart so I enjoy all things technology related.   I am a retired EMT (expired in 1999) and am involved with Boy Scouts (both my sons are Eagle Scouts).  I look forward to meeting all of you and chatting on the air.  I work from home a few days a week but also have to drive to the office in Greenwich CT twice a week so having a voice to talk to while in the car is always good.  It helps keep me sane :-)

Thanks again for the welcome and for managing this great network.
Greg
