LONG ISLAND MARATHON
ABOUT LONG ISLAND MARATHON
For years, Long Islander’s as well as many others from the Tri-State area and all over the country have been participating in the annual Long Island Marathon Weekend. What started many years ago as just a marathon, grew first with the addition of a Half Marathon and many years later the addition of a 10K race, 5K race, 1 Mile run and Kids Fun Run meant that anyone and everyone, no matter what their experience or athletic ability could participate in this annual Long Island tradition. Beginning with the Sports & Fitness Expo, all of the Long Island Marathon Weekend events take place in the area of Eisehower Park in East Meadow and the Mitchel Athletic Complex, located next door in Uniondale. In May, Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K Participants start together on Charles Lindbergh Blvd. behind the famed Nassau Coliseum and finish together inside Eisenhower Park before spending the afternoon partying at the Finish Line Festival featuring live music and refreshments. We look forward to seeing each and every one of you at the start and can’t wait to cheer for you at the finish line.
